Description
This instrument is based on the incredible Cremonese double bass made by Vincenzo Ruggeri around 1695. The Thomas and George Martin take on it has changed the soundholes to those of Hieronymus Amati II and increased the rib depth to create even more air space. The well-proportioned upper shoulders make this model very easy to play despite being a larger instrument. It is made with a spruce top, carved flamed maple back and ribs, and maple neck. Features ebony fittings, an adjustable maple bridge, individual Baker style tuning machines.
